Description

SIIT is hiring a Health Curriculum Specialist!

The Health Curriculum Specialist will focus on curriculum development and management for the Indigenous Practical Nursing (IPN) program and Health Care Aide (HCA) program. This position is responsible to ensure the creation and continuous improvement of SIIT's health curriculum. This position leads the research and development of all components of the curriculum, including the program and learning objectives, instructional and assessment methods appropriate for the achievement of those objectives, as well as, the ongoing review and updating of content and evaluation of courses.

The Health Curriculum Specialist will analyze, develop, plan, and implement best practices for the review and maintenance of the program curriculum. The incumbent will be required to organize the curriculum to create a learning environment that guides and promotes student success. This position will be responsible for overseeing curriculum quality assurance, alignment of program objectives to industry expectations, and improvement of student outcomes related to credential achievement and related employment. The position will work closely with academic staff to ensure programs and courses are current, relevant, and meeting market needs. Working in collaboration with the Indigenous Practical Nursing Program advisory committee, this position will focus on incorporating inclusion of Indigenous pedagogy and worldview in the curriculum, practicums, community experience and mentorship to meet the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN) Program competency standards.
