Brief Overview:
The Metis Nation Saskatchewan is the government that represents Metis citizens in
Saskatchewan, and MNS Ministry of Health is responsible for improving the health and well-being of Metis citizens in Saskatchewan. The Ministry of Health does this through program development and operation, research and data partnerships, and the development of a Metis Health and Well-being Strategy. MNS Ministry of Health requires five Metis Patient Navigators to work independently and collaboratively with MNS Ministry of Health to develop and operate a Metis-specific Patient Navigation Program for Metis citizens in Saskatchewan. The goal of this program is to support and facilitate safe and accessible primary care and community-based health care service for Metis citizens. Key partnerships are with the Saskatchewan Health Authority First Nations and Metis Health Services Branch, SHA health care providers in North Battleford, Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Regina, and other MNS Ministries.
