Job duties:
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff membersSupport children in the development of their self-help skills and independence
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Plan and organize activities for children in the daycare. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods. Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
Job requirements:
Passion for working with children.
Food Handling Certificate would be an asset
A current Criminal Check & Vulnerable Sector screening
Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
MUST BE PRESENT IN SASKATOON AT TIME OF HIRING

- Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
- Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
- Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
- Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
- Assess the developmental level of children
- Knowledge of licensing regulations
