Description

The RM of Meota No. 468 is accepting Summer Student applications for the 2023 season:

This will be a full-time (16 weeks) position from July 3 - August 25, 2023 or as otherwise agreed on.  University students will be considered for an earlier start date.  Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (7 hour work day).

To be eligible for this position, you must:
*Be a post-secondary student who has successfully completed the school year in the spring of 2023 and is either graduating or returning to school in the fall of 2023; or
*Be a high school student (minimum of 16 years of age) who has successfully completed the school term / semester and is returning to school as a full-time student in the fall of 2023.
*Preference will be give to applicants who are proficient with computers, able to work well independently and with the public.

The majority of work will be in an office setting.  Duties may include
*Records retention and disposal - review, sort, scan, label, organize, store and list records to be retained and disposed of.
*Maintain storage areas - advertise and remove extra furniture and items in storage, remove old files for disposal, work with other local groups and non-profit organizations to sort and maintain their storage areas. This will require some heavy lifting to carry files and small furniture up stairs
*Assist office staff when required - sort, file, scan, prepare correspondence and mailouts, work on website updates or with various computer programs and assist ratepayers as situations arise.
*Minor maintenance of the storage area, office and grounds - paint, clean outside of building and grounds and maintain flowers beds
*Collect data for updates to the asset management program.  
*Be available for minimal outside work such as sign replacement and installation, or other maintenance duties as requested by the Foreman.
