Responsibilities:
Reviews internal HSE policies and practices to ensure they are current, appropriate, implemented, and communicated
Reviews district training objectives and district trend action plans; Verifies corporate training programs are implemented
Oversees and conducts formal HSE inspections and audits
Evaluates HSE processes and create action plans accordingly
Develops and evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response plans
Involved in the response to and resolution of any significant incidents
Monitors and evaluates the execution of the environmental plan; Involved in the response to and resolution of any significant environmental incidents
Supervision of HSE staff, that may include HSE admin, coordinators, supervisors, and workplace health coordinators
Qualifications:
Postsecondary diploma/degree in OH&S or a related discipline; CRSP certification preferred
10 years of experience in commercial construction or a related industry, with direct experience in HSE
4 years of experience in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of construction processes, execution, and terminology
Proven ability to influence, coach, and mentor others on HSE processes
Conflict resolution, with the ability to manage and effectively resolve conflict with contractors/owners and influence others towards resolution in high-pressure situations
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
