Job Description for Sign Designer/Sign Crafter
Overview: Person in this position will design, produce and install signs & decals. This position is responsible for all aspects of design, production and installation of signs. Design includes working with RIP Software (Roland), COREL/ADOBE/OMEGA design programs, preparing layouts and sending proofs to customers.
Key Duties will include:
o Design/Creation of signs and other media based on client requirements. Direct Communication with clients via phone/in person is required.
o Physical production of signs & sign assembly. This includes preparing substrates and applying vinyl.
o Laminating, and mounting digital imaged products.
o Proofreading of signs/proofs and conduct quality assurance to ensure the efficient production of quality, accurate signs.
o Operating a wide format (Roland) and narrow format (Edge FX) digital printer.
o Operating a vinyl plotter, weed excess vinyl from computer generated vinyl.
o Design and installation of vehicle graphics
o Monitoring on-hand supply of required materials (vinyl, ink, substrates, etc.)
The following is list of other duties and responsibilities.
o Adhere to all company policies and business ethics codes.
o Customer Service: Answer Phones, Greet Clients
o Produce Quotes
o Work with clients and other staff and management effectively
o Communicate with other employees and customers in a calm and professional manner.
o Ability to work under pressure to output volume, high quality product in a fast pace environment.
o Ability to use light power equipment.
o Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
o Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
o Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
o Lift up to 40 pounds.
o Climb ladder for installation to heights up to 10 feet.
o Other duties as assigned.
