We are looking for 2-3 experienced cooks to join the team and carry out the following duties:
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment, effectively and efficiently work during peak hours;
- Prepare and cook Chinese cuisine as per order;
- Prepare and cook other meals included in stores menus;
- Set up and oversee buffet warmer;
- Responsible for the size of food portions, prepare buffet food and meals, cook additional food when items are picked out;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as a team player;
- Customer service skills and sales skills;
- Ensure kitchen efficiency of operation and foods quality;
- Coordinate with supervisors, and make sure the kitchen meets the hygiene standards;
- May need to train new kitchen staff;
- May need to schedule and supervise Kitchen Helpers, maintain ingredients inventory, and report to the supervisor;
- May need to research local customers' interests and develop new menus and seasonal meals accordingly;
- Other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
Previous experience: Minimum of 1 year in the culinary field required. Experience in Chinese restaurants and fast food is an asset.
A diploma/certification in a Culinary discipline is an asset.
Qualifications: Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (Preferred)
Language: English is preferred, and Mandarin Chinese is an asset.
