Position Overview:
The Victoria Avenue East Sarcan (2636 Victoria Avenue East) location is currently accepting applications for the position of Recycling Technicians. The Recycling Technician provides customer service by counting containers for deposit refund, preparing containers for shipping, loading product onto trailers for transport and may operate the cash register if required.  

Duties and Skills Required:  
1.Counting and sorting of containers for deposit refunds (reading, writing and math skills required)
2. Preparing containers for shipping and loads product onto trailers for transport (sorting, crushing, palletize materials)
3. Greeting/communicating with customers and providing excellent customer service skills
4. Ability to work both independently and in team environments
5. Loads and unloads trailers by hand or use of depot equipment (ie. pallet jack, forklift, etc.)
6. Lifting and carrying of product, and the ability to complete physical work (bending, climbing, lifting)
7. Must be able to stand for long periods of time in completion of duties
8. Operate and maintain depot equipment, and provide general cleaning of the depot
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
10. Forklift certification is an asset
11. Ability to follow all safety procedures/practices in compliance with policy
12. Must have a clear criminal record (must include a vulnerable sector search)
13. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
14. Other related duties as assigned

Hours of work:
Various hours (Maximum up to 40hrs per week) Monday to Saturday, able to work daytime, evenings and/or weekends.  Eligibility for employer paid group benefits.
