The technical services department is looking for a talented lead technologist who would like to be part of a team that will provide design solutions to Cameco operations and other business units. Reporting to Chief Engineer, mechanical, you will be responsible for mentoring and training of other designers, review/oversight of the design work, development and coordination of data rich 3D models, and drawings.
You will ensure all work is done in accordance with Camecos processes, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements to meet the required quality.
Requirements of the position:
- Diploma in mechanical engineering or CAD/CAM technology
- 10 - 12 years of relevant industrial work experience
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- A.Sc.T, C.E.T, or international equivalent certification
Assets:
- Experience in piping, equipment design, equipment layout, building services, HVAC, process ventilation, and materials handling and development of procurement and construction work packages
- Advanced knowledge and strong hands-on experience in 3D modelling design software (preferred experience with Autodesk Plant 3D, MEP, Navisworks), working with 3D Laser Scan point cloud data (using Leica Cloudworx, Jetstream, ReCap or similar software), and Autodesk Vault or similar drawing management system
- Experience working in a projects environments, excellent organizational skills in leading, and managing CAD teams
- Experience in an industrial and/or mining environment is preferred.
- Experience with using 3D laser scan data, and integration of technical data in 3D CAD Models to support - Building Information Modelling will be an asset
- Projects will be based at Camecos northern Saskatchewan sites and Ontario operations. Individual will be required to travel occasionally to these sites.
