South Prairie Transport 100% locally owned and is a leader in the waste hauling industry with a fleet of 10 tractor trailer units and 3-5 mechanics. We understand the trucking industry and work with our drivers to create a safe, efficient and positive work place. We are located in Regina and offer drivers full time employment, daily overtime and a guarantee that they will be home every night.

Job Description:

This role would work to haul residential and municipal waste from a transfer station located in Regina to a landfill located in Whitewood. They would be operating a tractor-trailer unit as per company and industry standards. We are looking for a part time driver to cover off holidays and work when needed and work Mondays and Fridays each week. This role would work full time for weeks when other drivers are on holidays.

General Duties:

- Complete daily circle checks of tractor-trailer unit
- Keep detailed logs of circle checks and driving logs
- Drive air brake equipped tractor-trailer units.
- Communicate with supervisors and mechanics to keep trucks running in top shape
- Drive in varying conditions
- Drive on varying types of roadways
- Keep tractor-trailer clean and tidy

Qualifications:

- Valid 1A drivers license
- Minimum of 1 years driving experience
- Acceptable driving record, as determined by management
- Capable of working independently and with minimal supervision
- Available to work overtime on a daily basis
- Knowledge of safety aspects and standard precautions. Must be willing to comply with all safety policies.
- A criminal record check will also be required.
