Reporting to the Principal Metallurgist, this position is responsible for supporting the centralized and standardized approach to operational technology throughout Cameco, with a focus on industrial control system standards, practices, and procedures. This position will also lead initiatives to standardize and drive step-change improvements in digital capabilities in controls areas like HMI standards, programming practices, alarm management, and asset management for all of Cameco, enabling improved reliability, safety, and process optimization opportunities. The position originated based on the requirements of the continually expanding field of industrial control systems technology.
Requirements of the position:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Eight to twelve years of experience with various types of instrumentation and control systems, platforms, and equipment in an asset-intensive industrial setting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
- You must be registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Assets:
- Knowledge of mining, mineral and chemical processing is a plus
- Experience with Modicon PLCs, Foxboro or DeltaV DCS is a plus
- Experience with standards development and deployment in a corporate/central role
- Knowledgeable or experienced with cybersecurity, IIoT, and/or industrial networking in an industrial setting
