Job Description: The PHI Supervisor plans, monitors, coordinates, and evaluates the delivery of public health inspection services in the Athabasca Health Authority, and Saskatchewan Health Authority NW 1, NE 1 & 2. The PHI Supervisor is directly responsible for the Public Health Inspection Program and is accountable for delegated authority from the local authority (Section 10 of The Public Health Act) in the area of Community Health Protection, Food Protection, Environmental Health Protection and Enforcement; and enforcement of The Tobacco Control Act. The position is also responsible for the encouragement of environmentally healthy public policy in the area served, environmental health education, community development initiatives,
consultation, inspection and enforcement of health legislation and some community health related bylaws.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health
Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada), CPHI
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
Two years of experience in Public Health Inspection work with demonstrated ability in supervisory functions

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong leadership skills and experience.
- Program development and strategic planning in an environmental health context.
- Experience in working in an accountable and regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of population health promotion; community development.
