Description

The Ministry of Highways, Operation and Maintenance, Central Region Operations Regional Administration, is seeking a highly-motivated individual with excellent administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills to join the Central Region Office in Saskatoon as an Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will form part of the administration team that serves a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, various Ministry staff, Ministry executive, branches and divisions, and external stakeholders.

As a member of the administration team, you will:
- have strong analytical skills, computer skills, and knowledge of accounting principles and practices for payments of invoices, contract payments, CVA, and travel expense statements;
- process time sheets in PSC Client;
- maintain various databases, including computer software such as Oracle Financials, and Microsoft Office;
- be responsible for reception and ordering of supplies;
- respond to and redirect inquiries from the public;
- manage constantly-changing priorities while meeting daily deadlines;
- respond to rude, hostile, frustrated, and upset parties where property has been damaged;
- create, proofread, and format documents, forms, and reports using various software programs;
- review, assess, approve, code, and process documents such as claims, permits, and applications;
- compile reports and keep budget records;
- receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries;
- record minutes of meetings;
- scan, archive and maintain various filing systems; and
- ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. in a safe manner.

Typically, to qualify for this position, your training would be through a diploma in office education or office administration and/or several years of relevant experience.
