Description

Reporting to the Language Program Manager the Child Minding Coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Evening Child Minding Program.  They will provide quality care with a child-centered approach to the children participating in the program ensuring their health and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities
-follow and ensure that all child minding program requirements are being met
-plan and implement activities for children in accordance with the program philosophy
-welcome and interact with newcomer children and their parents
-provide activities and experiences that meet the individual development needs of the children
-maintain various records and reporting
-Inspect program space for safety issues and seek corrective action according to procedures
-oversee and supervise other program staff and/or volunteers (where applicable)
-end of shift cleaning and sanitizing

Qualifications
-ECE Level 2 preferred but will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience
-First Aid and CPR Certification
-Valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check
-Understanding and awareness of settlement issues and the concerns of newcomers
-Understanding of the programming needs of children who are in care for short periods of time

 - Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
 - Knowledge of licensing regulations

 - Assist in housekeeping duties
 - Assist in maintaining records of children
