Description

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety's mandate provides supervision and rehabilitation services for adult and young offenders, promotes appropriate and effective policing, and supports community and public safety services throughout Saskatchewan.

The ministry is seeking a progressive police educator with executive-level knowledge and leadership experience to assume direct responsibility for the overall management and operational oversight of the SKPC as the Director, Saskatchewan Police College.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to lead the expansion of police and other law enforcement training capacity and infrastructure. This effort further relates to the design, development, implementation and management of incrementally renewed business, policy, regulatory, financial, human resource, and training delivery models that will enhance training and education outcomes.

Our ideal candidate is experienced in and capable of embracing positive operational disruption and leading operational change through superior relationship management. You will be a strong visionary leader, who is comfortable interacting with various stakeholder groups and agencies and has the ability to influentially build and maintain successful relationships with individuals, teams, and partners.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through:

a minimum of a bachelors degree with an equivalent combination of education and work experience in policing, advanced adult education and training, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field combined with progressive leadership experience.
prior senior or executive-level police leadership experience.
