Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing, the RN will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in surgery 4B, ENT, plastics & urology.  The incumbent will demonstrate active participation in model of care that integrates quality improvement principles, lean methodology, best practice, advanced technology, and patient family centered care.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position

NOTE: This is a Provincial Posting and is open to all SUN members within the bargaining unit as per Articles 27.02 and 27.05 of the SUN Collective Bargaining Agreement. First preference will be given to employees of the SKHA (Saskatoon) and its affiliated agencies.

IT WILL BE DESIRABLE IF YOU POSSESS A KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPLES, METHODS AND TECHNIQUES INVOLVED IN PERFORMING NURSING SERVICES RELATING TO THE CARE OF PATIENTS ON SURGERY 4B, ENT, PLASTICS & UROLOGY.  THIS KNOWLEDGE IS COMMONLY OBTAINED THROUGH PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN ACUTE SURGICAL NURSING.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons. Internal candidates may be required to provide a CRC and/or VSC during the recruit
