Description

Operates and monitors building control systems and maintains facility/plant systems and equipment. Independently performs repairs/installations on a wide variety of complex building systems and equipment.

Required Qualifications:
- 5th Class Power Engineering certification or Fireman Boiler Operator certificate
- Grade 12

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently
- Communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of tools and equipment
- Organizational skills
- Valid drivers license

Position Effective Date: June 4, 2023 (start date)

Must be available minimum 4 shifts a week.

Pay Band 13 $27.990 to $30.000 (CUPE FMO 3 step range)

KEY ACTIVITIES:
Operates and monitors building control systems
Operates, services and maintains plant systems
Monitors critical alarm systems
Monitors and maintains facility systems
Independently performs complex repairs/installs other than those requiring a plumbing or electrical permit
Repairs and maintains equipment
Performs welding and fabricating; electrical and plumbing repairs up to code requirements; carpentry repairs, painting, dry-walling; preventative maintenance.
Maintains maintenance logs and records.
Enters and retrieves information from computer
Leads projects and liaises with contractors
Installs/assists with equipment upgrades and enhancements (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, cabling).
Removes waste
Complies with IP&C standards
