Zagim Anishinabk is a progressive First Nations, located around 22 KM Northeast of the Town of Grenfell in Saskatchewan. Goose Lake School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team player to provide service to the Zagim Community.

SUMMARY:
This position of Grade 1/2 Teacher is for the remaining 2023/24 -2024/2025 School Terms and will report to the principal but with overall accountability to the Director of Lifelong Learning and Wellness. The primary aim is to provide education services on Zagim Anishinabk First Nations in which the youth can grow in the knowledge, love, and practice of the First Nation Saulteaux Culture, in addition to the regular education program prescribed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education and Zagim Anishinabk.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Plan and organize the learning activities of the class with due regard to individual differences and needs of the student.
    Co-operate with colleagues and associates in program development and teaching activities pertaining to the class and individual students, and supervision of recess and noon hour lunch.
    Conduct and manage assigned functions in the instructional program in accordance with the education policies of Saskatchewan Education and all applicable regulations.
    Include in the education program First Nations culture and content to increase student self-esteem and to preserve a valuable part of the culture of First Nations students.
    Keep a daily record of student attendance and report any concerns.
    Report regularly, in accordance with policies, to the parent/guardian to each student with respect to their progress and any circumstances or conditions which may be of mutual interest and concern.
    Attending all meetings of the staff convened by the principal and/or department head.
    Advance and promote students in their work in accordance with policies of Saskatchewan Education and under the general supervision of the principal.
