GooseLake School - Zagime Anishinabek

This position is for the remaining 2023/24 School Term position and will report to the Principal but with overall accountability to the Director of Lifelong Learning and Wellness. The primary aim is to provide education services on the Zagim Nation in which the youth can grow in the knowledge, love, and practice of the First Nation Saulteaux Culture, in addition to the regular education program prescribed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education and Zagim Anishinabk.
Qualifications:
-    Possess a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
-    Early childhood development classes, behavior management, and/or special education training would be an asset.
-    Willing to work in co-operation with education staff in a team environment.
-    Possess excellent communication skills both orally and written to deal effectively with fellow employees, band membership, the general public.
-    Possess strong organizational, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
-    Previous experience teaching in a First Nations community would be an asset - Knowledge of Saulteaux Language, Culture and Traditions would be an asset.
-    Ability to work effectively with other personnel within the organization and a strong commitment to the community.
-    Knowledge of curriculum programming and implementation of skills would be an asset.
-    Applicants must submit a criminal record check with the vulnerable sector upon application.
-    Possess a valid Driver's license and a reliable vehicle
-    Willing to submit a pre-employment drug test upon application.
