Description

The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan requires a full-time permanent Reference Clerk to work in Reference and Outreach Services.  Under the supervision of the Manager of Reference and Outreach Services and Reference Archivists, the successful applicant will play an essential role in providing a variety of client services.

With your experience and commitment to customer service, you will provide receptionist duties by greeting and registering clients and provide orientation to clients including the use of microfilm readers and printers. With your knowledge of basic archival standards, you will conduct basic conservation work for archival records and assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the reading room.

With your background in administration and/or finance you will handle financial sales with clients, balance and deposit cash funds, and create invoices. You will play a key role in tracking and documenting statistics and data input. You will have knowledge and experience in common office and administrative procedures and protocols and must be familiar with common office equipment and software.

With your knowledge and experience scanning and using image editing software you will have a primary role in preparing reproduction orders for clients according to archival standards. You will contribute to the development of promotional material using image editing and graphic design software.  

The knowledge and abilities required for this position would typically be obtained through experience working in an office, archives, or library environment. Additional education obtained from undergraduate courses in history or the Social Sciences, archival or library technician course work, and/or secretarial/administrative services training is an asset.
