The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan (PAS) is seeking one (1) Archival Clerk to assist with records management and archival reviews of internal PAS records, and other activities as required, to facilitate historical appraisal and determine the records eligibility for destruction.
The clerk will assist Information Management Analysts and Appraisal Archivists in the assessment of the internal records. This position will be responsible for creating new and examining existing inventories, identifying gaps in information and reconciling physical boxes with existing listings. Working with supervising staff, the clerk will correct gaps and inconsistencies, and retrieve, organize, and rehouse records in preparation for historical appraisal or destruction.
The candidate requires a general knowledge of archives and records and information management; organizational and time management skills; knowledge of office and administrative techniques, procedures and protocols in order to organize and perform a variety of administrative tasks related to the management of inactive records. The candidate requires a knowledge of computer databases; word processing software; spreadsheet software; internet/browsers, including being able to input, update, edit, retrieve, maintain, merge, format, and transmit information/data using a variety of software and/or electronic systems with speed and accuracy. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel is an asset.
The candidate requires the physical ability to lift boxes weighing up to 15kg/30Lbs.
