Job Description: This position will research, develop, co-ordinate and deliver community-based services for children who witness violence and their families. This position will deliver education/awareness to clients and community at large on issues for children who witness violence. This position will make connections with other community agencies and partner with them to provide co-facilitators and venues for services. It will assess children and families for program suitability and refer clients to appropriate additional services as necessary. It will maintain appropriate records, develop an evaluation plan and provide regular reports regarding the services.
Qualifications:
A bachelor degree in a Human Services field with eligibility for professional registration with applicable professional association.
Licensing/Registration:
Professional registration with applicable professional association
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledgeable and skilled in evidence-supported Western conventional as well as effective traditional and cultural approaches to mental health and
wellness in indigenous children, youth and their families
Ability to speak Cree would be an asset
Experience working in a cross-cultural setting is a definite asset
Knowledge of human development and family dynamics relating to family violence, trauma, addiction and poverty is essential
Specific understanding of child and youth mental health issues is required
