Position: CanPowerSkate Coach
Location: Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada, Elgar Petersen Arena
When: Fall of 2023. 2 days a week with 4-5 sessions a day. Each session is 45 minutes for 10 sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training programs for skaters in the CanPower program.
- Provide on-ice instruction and guidance to skaters during practice sessions.
- Teach proper skating techniques, power skating skills, and agility training.
- Evaluate skaters' progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Plan and organize practice sessions, including warm-up exercises and drills.
- Promote safety and ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
- Foster a love for the sport and inspire skaters to reach their full potential.
Requirements:
Certified CanPowerSkate Coach through Skate Canada
Experience in coaching power skating and working with young athletes.
Strong knowledge of power skating techniques, stride development, speed training, and agility drills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire skaters to improve their skating skills and excel in hockey.
Organizational skills to plan and manage training sessions effectively.
A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive training environment.
Skate Humboldt provides programs to help our participants learn to skate, figure skate and teach
hockey skills. These programs include Canskate, StarSkate and CanPowerSkate. All registration and administration for this program is completed by Skate Humboldt.
