Description

What you'll do:
Strategically advance the occupational and psychological health, safety, and wellness programs throughout the corporation.
Build and maintain collaborative and consultative relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and Health, Safety and Wellness experts to support the effective delivery of corporate initiatives.
Monitor and audit employee compliance with safe work practices.
Oversee the coordination and operation of occupational health & safety committees and actively provide advice and resources.
Maintain framework for monitoring and reporting on health and safety programs including work related safety incidents and WCB lost time claims.
Manage WCB claims processes including facilitation of modified duties and return to work programming.
Investigate and draft reports and recommendations on incidents, injuries, and accidents.
Take a lead role in identifying organizational risk in the areas of health, safety, and wellness and recommend preventative measures and strategies.
Support the administration of corporate attendance support policy.
Carry out inspection of possible remote work locations to determine eligibility of location and provide advice on requirements to mitigate risk.
Facilitate training to increase awareness on corporate occupational and psychological health, safety, and wellness programming as well as safety principles and best practices.
Act as primary stakeholder of ergonomics evaluation process.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position you will need a diploma in Human Resources, Health and Safety or a related field supplemented with experience in a human resources or occupational health and safety role, ideally in a unionized setting.
