Description

The YMCA of Regina is an Imagine Canada accredited non-profit charity that is open to all, dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. As the premiere values-based builder of health, leadership, and personal development in the city of Regina, we focus our program delivery on our three pillars of service: health and fitness, community development, and childcare.

Our Day Camp staff work to provide children and youth with positive opportunities during the summer season supporting social development, personal development, health and well-being. Were looking for an individual with a strong background in leading childrens programs who is interested in up to 40 hrs/week for the summer season. Camp activities vary across physical activity, sport development, art, science, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and implement daily activities for campers ages 4-12 following a program outline as set by the Director.
* Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to grow that promotes personal development, social development, recreation and health.
* Be a positive role model and build relationships with all program participants and families, reflecting the values of the YMCA.

Requirements:
* Understanding of childhood development practices and how to effectively work with children.
* Strong leadership skills, capable of inspiring program participants, with a proven ability to effectively manage groups.
* Ability to understand program objectives, set program priorities, and implement programming that reflects program goals.
* High level of organizational aptitude, creativity, and ability to adapt to change/problem solve as required.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Criminal Record Check (original) with vulnerable sector check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date.
* Current Standard First Aid and C
