Working under the Artistic Director and Tour Manager, they will be mentored and taught how to carry out the tasks outlined below. The Production Assistant will be responsible for learning and maintaining the following tasks:
Attend staff production meetings, contribute ideas and engage in the planning process.
Assist with preproduction of our winter show and tour.
Assist with design and construction of sets and props.
Assist with repair and maintenance of stage, sound, and touring equipment.
Assist with the repair, maintenance, and purchase of set and props.
Assist sound and lighting techs for set up.
Assist performers with costume changes and ensure all props are ready and in place.
Assist in the preparation of show orders and microphone mapping.
Help co-ordinate rental of transportation vehicles. (i.e. buses, vans).
Drive touring vehicles as required.
Assist the production with a final report and contribute recommendations for improvements.
Work with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure that SaskExpress represents our province with pride and enthusiasm while presenting the best show possible.
