About Us:
We're a dynamic organization dedicated to providing exceptional support in our group homes. As a Direct Support Worker, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, effective, and vibrant environment for our clients.
Your Role:
Reporting to the Group Home Manager, your responsibilities include:
General:
Advocate for clients.
Handle client situations with care and empathy.
Collaborate to maintain respectful relationships with clients, families, and team members.
Programming:
Work with the Group Home Manager and Supervisor to implement comprehensive program plans.
Apply strategies outlined in CPP and SP for client programming.
Contribute to meal preparation, personal care, and health monitoring.
Assist with medication administration and accompany clients to appointments.
Administrative:
Understand and comply with CLSD legislation and NorthSask Special Needs policies.
Keep the Group Home Manager informed of major issues.
Maintenance/Housekeeping:
Maintain the cleanliness of the home.
Perform minor repairs and report maintenance concerns.
Conduct weekly inspections of equipment.
Contribute to yard maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting people with disabilities.
Education related to working with individuals with disabilities.
Teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Working Conditions:
Rotating shift work.
Group and individual work.
Interaction with challenging clients.
Support for incontinent clients.
Lifting and carrying.
Use of Track and Specialty Tub.
Extra Tasks:
Review house routines and policies.
Research fun activities, recipes, and crafts for clients.
Contribute to safety drills and familiarize yourself with medications.
Complete required training.
