Job Summary:
As a Kitchen Helper in our licensed Indian restaurant, you will be an essential member of our culinary team, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the kitchen staff in various food preparation tasks and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Your contribution will play a vital role in ensuring our guests receive high-quality, authentic Indian dishes in a safe and hygienic environment.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, and measuring spices and other components as per recipes.
Cooking Assistance: Support the kitchen team during the cooking process
Kitchen Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including cleaning countertops, utensils, and equipment
Stock Management: Help with inventory management by monitoring food supplies and notifying the kitchen supervisor
Waste Disposal: Properly handle and dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables in accordance with established guidelines
Safety and Hygiene: Comply with all safety and hygiene regulations
Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the cleaning and basic maintenance of kitchen appliances and equipment.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a kitchen helper or in a similar role is preferred
Familiarity with Indian cuisine and basic cooking techniques is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks
Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the restaurant's operating hours.
