Zaks Building Group is a diverse company with the following divisions: RTM and On-Site Residential Construction, Agricultural and Commercial Buildings and multiple Home Hardware retail locations.
Reporting to the CFO at the head office in Hague, SK, the Controller provides financial leadership and support to the organization's Accounting and Administration group.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for the supervision and mentorship of the accounting and administration team
Oversee and complete all accounting department activities including accounts payable, general ledger entries and reconciliation, bank reconciliation, government remittances and payroll
Preform month end close out entries and procedures for the organization and prepare reporting for various stakeholders
Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports for all stakeholders
Coordinate with financial institutions, legal counsel and outside accountants and auditors for various projects
Coordinate and oversee all insurance requirements for the group of companies
Work collaboratively with other employees and departments to implement projects and initiatives as required
Lead change management and instill an attitude of service in the accounting and administration team
Ad hoc responsibilities include any responsibilities or tasks that may be required or identified by ownership.
Qualifications:
Strong accounting knowledge through a post-secondary accounting program preferred
Min 3 years experience preferred in accounting and management
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Sage Intacct would be an asset
Strong work ethic, positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team
