Description

As the Welder, you are responsible for:
- Setting up & operating welding equipment, including welding machines, gas torches, & related tools.
- Cleaning and preparing surfaces to be welded by removing any impurities, dirt, or rust.
- Selecting appropriate welding techniques and materials based on the project's specifications.
- Performing all necessary welding and/or fabrication procedures for the ambulance conversion (floors, roofs, walls, doors) or component pieces (bumpers, compartments, running boards, and all powder coat parts) with dedication and precision.
- Monitoring and controlling the welding process to prevent overheating and ensure proper fusion.
- Inspecting completed welds for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and adhere to safety regulations.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to understand the welding requirements and methods where required.
- Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing welding tasks.

As a Welder, you will bring:
- 1st Year of Polytechnic pre-employment or up to 3 years experience.
- Mig welding experience, ideally in aluminum with Tig welding being an added asset.
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrated different welding methods, equipment, and materials.
- Machine operator (ironworker, saw, shear, forklift) experience is useful.
