Nature and Scope
The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute is a provincial non-profit organization that works to reduce the occurrence of disabling conditions in children. Our goal is healthy children. As a provincial organization, staff must be willing and able to travel throughout the province to meet program objectives. Staff must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license.
Specific Accountabilities
The FASD Prevention Program Coordinator carries out these responsibilities in consultation and collaboration with the other members of the FASD Prevention Team, the Saskatchewan Prevention Institutes programs, and core staff.
The Program Coordinator will be part of a team that is accountable for the following:
Coordination of primary prevention activities throughout Saskatchewan to increase awareness and knowledge of the causes and factors related to FASD.
Coordination of activities to increase awareness and knowledge of prevention of the adverse impacts of prenatal alcohol exposure among young children (0-6 years).
Coordination, support, and continued development of the Motivational Interviewing network of trainers.
Coordination of activities to increase capacity of youth and adult allies in addressing alcohol-related harms and the issues youth face.
