Assistant Director of Public Works & Utilities
The Assistant Director of Public Works & Utilities, under the direction of the Director of Public Works & Utilities, will provide support for all aspects of Municipal day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will possess the following certification:
Water Treatment Class 2
Water Distribution Class 1
Wastewater Collection and Treatment Class 1
All other candidates must be willing to work towards certification at these levels.
Day-to-day operations include but not limited to:
Operation of equipment including grader, tractor, mower, loader and mini-loader
Assist in repair, construction, and maintenance work with respect to roads, streets, lanes, buildings, sewer, drains, water utility, culverts and all other Public Works activities
Assist in sewer treatment and disposal system daily operation
Assist in waterworks system daily operation
Assist in the maintenance and repair of Recreation facilities
Available to respond to urgent calls and be part of an on-call rotation
Physical labour and ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
This position will be filled once a suitable candidate is retained but would request applications be received by September 22, 2023.

- Spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow or ice control
- Operate various equipment and machinery

- Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads and public grounds
- Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment
- Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or truck
