Description

RIWC is a settlement services provider, dedicated to integrating newcomer women and their families. We are seeking 2  HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) Home Visitors to deliver the HIPPY curriculum to the mothers registered with the program. This position requires someone who is friendly and can connect well with parents from a variety of backgrounds. You must enjoy working with families with young children; flexible, compassionate, energetic, and have a desire to learn.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit families within their designated work area and maintain a wait list of families
Make weekly visits to participating families for the purpose of role-playing activity packets
Execute the curriculum with their HIPPY child
Participate in weekly training sessions and staff development activities
Plan and facilitate monthly group meetings with the families including planning, recruiting and finding a suitable location
Meet regularly with the HIPPY Coordinator to discuss child/family progress and family issues and concerns
Timely completion and submission of required reports and documentation
Assist the Coordinator in maintaining an efficient record keeping system
Participation in all sponsored HIPPY activities
QUALIFICATIONS
Fluency in Multiple languages
A parent of a three or four-year-old child
Eligible to participate in HIPPY program
Ownership of a vehicle or access to public transportation
Good oral and written communication skills
Good computer skills
Ability to connect with families remotely
Good organizational skills and the ability to be task oriented
Ability to adhere to schedules and specific timetables
Demonstrated emotional maturity and sensitivity to the needs and interests of the targeted community
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and flexible hours.
The candidate must be available to schedule Home Visit appointments from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00  4:00
