RIWC is hiring a full-time Digital Literacy Instructor who will teach digital tools such as computer, Internet, smart phones, and social media applications, and helps clients develop the essential skills they need to use digital technologies with confidence.
DUTIES:
Provide oversight in the development of curriculum and lesson plans
Prepare course material and provide handouts to all participants
Assist with recruitment of clients for the program from the community, and other special events such as graduation and other school based celebrations
Conduct employment needs assessment and digital skills assessment
Assist participants in goal setting and in developing employability skills
Develop and delivering the digital literacy skills curriculum to the eligible
participants individually and in a small group-based;
Provide feedback to participants on their progression through the various digital
skills courses
Work to streamline participants in the course that best fits their current digital skills and employment goals
Discuss the participants progress and challenges and
Assist participants with revision and creation of their digital professional portfolio based on the digital skills
Prepare/maintain stats, attendance and reports
QUALIFICATIONS
A College degree/diploma in computer science/Information Technology related fields
or at least three-years adult digital literacy teaching experience.
Experience planning and facilitating workshops and group activities focused on settlement services for Newcomers;
Current Vulnerable Sector clear criminal record check (CRC).
SKILLS
Can research and develop information sessions and/or workshops
Can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Can organize, present and record program information in a clear, concise, complete, accurate, and timely manner
Can independently plan and balance diverse/conflicting workload, to meet program goals and client need
Teaching experience in low literacy
