Description

The position of Sandblaster includes, but is not limited to, removing dirt, rust, scale and paint from metal equipment and components using sandblasting equipment. The shift is Monday-Thursday,10 hour shifts.

Job Duties

Clean & refurbish metal & industrial equipment using sandblasting, pressurized steam or hydroblasting equipment
Abrade surfaces of metal/hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale,dirt & to impart specified finish,using abrasive-blasting equipment
Shovel or pour abrasives,such as sand,grit or shot of specified grade into machine hopper
Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action
Measure & mark equipment,objects or parts to ensure grinding & polishing standards are met
Maintain a safe workplace
Ensure that process is completed within set timeframes
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
High School Diploma,GED or equivalent
Prefer one year experience but will provide training if needed
Ability to work independently
Highly flexible,with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Able to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Able to deal with people sensitively,tactfully,diplomatically & professionally at all times

Work Conditions
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Constant light physical effort(bending,reaching,carrying light items,walking,standing)
Regular heavy physical effort(carrying, lifting or pushing heavy items)
Work occasionally requires attention to detail,subject to frequent interruptions that require immediate attention
Occasional peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace over which you have no control or deadlines creating pressure
Job is regularly highly repetitive & includes monotonous tasks
Overtime as required.
