Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies services to the public and other ministries that support efforts to build the economy and make a better life for all Saskatchewan people. Services include central property management services including government buildings, accommodations, transportation, and information technology.

The Property Management Branch within the ministry is seeking two (2) individuals to join our service team as a Facility Maintenance Mechanic to provide facility maintenance duties at LF McIntosh in Prince Albert and Sturdy Stone Centre in Saskatoon.

As a member of a service-oriented team, you will be responsible for providing customer comfort and service by ensuring a safe environment for our customers and clients.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have:

- Knowledge and experience working with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC);
- Knowledge of automated building management systems and Direct Digital Controls (DDC);
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices of carpentry, plumbing and electrical systems;
- The ability to inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and perform minor repairs and maintenance using proper safety precautions and standards; and,
- The ability to respond to questions and concerns calmly and respectfully from clients with clear and consistent communication.

You will also possess a 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate and a Refrigeration Engineers Certificate. If there are no candidates who possess these certifications, we are open to having the successful candidate work under the Chief while they obtain the required certifications (within twelve months of employment.)

A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License is also required for this position.
