SINNETT PORK FARM LTD. is in need of  Pork Production Technician  (NOC 84120)


JOB SUMMARY:
1. Maintain an awareness of animal comfort at all times
2. Perform heat checks and breed sows using Artificial Insemination
3. Determine semen requirements and place order with lab
4. Perform heat checks in gilt pens
5. Turn feed system on and off as required in order to feed hogs in breeding and gestation area; adjust feeders as required
6. Ensure water is available at all times
7. Heat check sows in gestation
8. Conduct pregnancy tests at various stages in gestation
9. Prepare medication to be administered; conduct visual health checks
10. Locate sows and gilts for vaccinating purposes
11. Locate and lock up sows in farrowing rooms
12. Pull manure pits according to barn protocols
13. Pressure wash breeding and gestation as required
14. Pull cull sows and ensure proper withdrawal periods are adhered to
15. Advise Barn Manager of Production or Maintenance of any concerns
16. Process paper work daily
17. Conduct a thorough visual check of breeding and gestation prior to leaving for the day
18. Adhere to strict environmental controls
19. Perform other duties as assigned

Salarv Range & Benefits:

1. $17.00 per hour based on experience with regular reviews of employment.  First review conducted at 3 months than 6 months with annual reviews after that.
2. Work Schedule will be shift work (1 hour off for lunch but employees must remain onsite)
