Autism Services of Saskatoon is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to fill a contract term position of Speech and Language Pathologist. The successful candidate will have experience providing communication support to young autistic individuals and a passion for caregiver education. Reporting to the Director of the Autism Intervention Program, this position will involve leading the Hanen More Than Words Program for caregivers of children aged 0-5 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is a 12-week program involving group session facilitation and 1:1 client/caregiver sessions as they relate to the group. There will be flexibility allowed in scheduling of group and 1:1 sessions.
The ideal candidate will have:
Masters Degree in the area of responsibility; must be a member of and licensed with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Saskatchewan (CSASK; formerly SASLPA)
Demonstrated understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Clinical experience working with families of young children with ASD or related communication challenges;
Knowledge about various forms of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (both high and low tech)
Current Hanen membership
Experience offering the More Than Words Program in person or via telepractice is a strong asset
Commitment to providing neurodiversity affirming care to clients and their families
Excellent communication skills (verbal/written); decision making skills; professional judgement skills; and organizational/time-management skills
Strong presentation skills and computer skills including Microsoft Office
The successful applicants for this position will be
required to provide a police background check as a
