Wheatland Regional Library requires a Temporary Program Manager. Under the direction of the Library Director, this individual will oversee programming for all 45 Wheatland Regional Library branches. Travel within the region is required. Evening and weekend work is required. This is a full-time, six-month term position, with the possibility of extension. Work hours are flexible as determined by travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of strategies and plans for region-wide programming
Coordinate library programs and events including Saskatchewan Library Week, Childrens Book Week, Summer
Reading Club, Saskatchewan Indigenous Storytelling Month, and author tours
Coordinate multi-branch programming and community services events and activities
Interact/build relationships with community-based organizations such as literacy groups, community groups, and other service groups
Commitment to deliver consistent programming services to a diverse population
STEAM/STEM programming for children and teens
Develop and recommend to the Library Director an annual budget for programming services
Provide leadership to, communicate with, and support the branches in all aspects of programming
Provide back up to the Branch Manager when required
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution, completion of a Library and Information Technology diploma from an accredited institution or a post-secondary education with equivalent experience
Previous programming experience including planning, developing and delivering programs
Demonstrated ability to work constructively in a collaborative decision-making process
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to program for patrons of all ages
A current acceptable Criminal Record Check required
Valid drivers license and the ability to drive throughout the region as required
