The Electrical Technician assembles/tests electrical panels and electrical equipment using technical drawings (electrical and mechanical) or written work instructions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Interpret technical drawings: electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
Assemble, wire, install and test of electrical panels, battery packs, Electric Vehicle modules, automotive harnesses, and a wide variety of electrical/electronic equipment.
Electrical panel assembly includes installation and wiring of electrical/electronic components such as relays, contactors, motor starters, VFDs, circuit breakers, PLCs, HMIs, terminals, push buttons, selector switches, indicator lights, etc.
Electrical equipment assembly includes installation and wiring of electrical/electronic devices such as electric motors, solenoid valves, sensors (proximity, laser, load cell, ultrasonic, oil level and temperature) lights, etc.
Electrical panels and electrical equipment tests consist of point-to-point connection testing, voltage/current and equipment functional tests in house and on site.
Ability to identify electrical/electronic components and components data sheets is a must.
Actively works toward the common goals of the team by meeting targets and demonstrating flexibility.
Performs installation, maintenance and repair of shop equipment and tools (lathes, boring mills, welding machines, etc.)
Qualifications:
Technician, Technologist, Apprentice / Journeyperson, or equivalent relevant experience.
4+ years of experience in the electrical field.
Proficient with electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics interpretation.
Experience with ERP systems.
Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail.
