The Public Works Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of vehicles and equipment to carry out work related to the maintenance and operation of the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities:
Drive a (Standard and Automatic) tandem axle dump truck used in transporting construction and maintenance materials such as dirt, snow, salt, blacktop, sand and other materials.
Perform trailer loading/unloading
Operate trucks and attachments to plow snow, salt and sand streets
Perform pre-trip inspections and adjust, service, clean and make minor running repairs as required
Performs other duties as required.
Education
Grade 12 education or equivalent GED;
Certificate in WHMIS required, First Aid preferred
Certificate in Traffic Control considered an asset
Possession and maintenance of a valid Saskatchewan Class 3A License; Class 1A would be considered an asset
Hand Signals Training preferred
1-2 years experience driving truck
