Description
Store shelf stockers, clerks and order fillers pack customers' purchases, price items, stock shelves with merchandise, and fill online, mail and telephone orders. They are employed in retail establishments, such as grocery, hardware and department stores, and in warehouses.
Job duties
1.Bag, box or parcel purchases for customers at stores or for shipment and delivery to customers
2.Carry customers' purchases to parking lot and pack in vehicles
3.Unpack products received by store and count, weigh or sort items
4.Use barcode scanning equipment to record incoming stock, verify pricing and maintain computerized stock inventory
5.Price items using stamp or stickers according to price list
6.Attach protective devices to products to protect against shoplifting
7.Stock shelves and display areas and keep stock clean and in order
8.Label and document orders, and prepare shipping, customs and courier documentation when required
9.Obtain articles for customers from shelf or stockroom
1.0Direct customers to location of articles sought and assist with inquiries
11.Enter, track and process customer orders and generate inventory reports
12.May operate carts, dollies, forklifts, hand trucks, order pickers and other powered industrial trucks (PIT)
13.May sweep aisles, dust display racks and perform other general cleaning duties
14.May operate cash register and computer for electronic commerce transactions
15.May order stock.
