Description

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related program.
- At least 5 years of experience in a comparable role.
- Expertise in civil/earthworks, including embankments, grading, drainage, roads, and similar areas.
- Proven proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Capability to interpret and understand plans and CAD drawings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborating within multi-disciplinary project teams to execute a broad range of projects, including environmental, earth fill/cut, site grading, lagoons, landfills, slope stabilization, roads, drainage, storm water management areas, laydown zones, water treatment facilities, and other civil projects.
- Creating drawings and diagrams under the minimal supervision of an Engineer, such as (2D/3D) general arrangements, sections, elevations, bills of materials, pipeline layouts, water treatment plant layouts, and underground distribution design work.
- Preparing design plans (2D/3D) and calculations of the quantity of materials required.
- Retrieving, entering, and updating design data within drawings.
- Supplying necessary calculations to field personnel when needed.
- Preparing survey plans and 3D models for use in GPS and Machine Control applications.
- Providing layout information at various stages of construction
- Engaging and collaborating with internal project teams and other disciplines, such as structural, mechanical, and electrical.
- Keeping meticulous survey records, documentation, and submissions.
- Following established design guidelines and protocols.
- Reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with client drafting standards.
- Professionally providing clear communication with clients.
- Offering back-up support for surveying staff (if interested).
- Maintaining accurate design files for reference purposes.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor.
