Description

Join the City of Regina team in the Permanent position of Coordinator, Environmental Compliance!

This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of potable water, wastewater and environmental monitoring and sampling programs and maintenance of regulatory permits for the City of Regina.

Some duties will include:
-Responsible for the supervision and coordination of staff which may include Environmental Technologists and summer students.
-Assist in the review of existing regulatory permits related to environmental performance of City owned and operated facilities and infrastructure.
-Liaise with regulatory agencies as needed.
-Prepare environmental permit applications and renew regulatory permits as needed to ensure seamless operation of City facilities and infrastructure.
-Oversee and help design monitoring and sampling programs with the objective of meeting regulatory and contract requirements and limiting risk to the environment and WWTP.
-Prepare environmental reports for submission to regulators and the administration.
-Identify training and personal protective equipment that will be needed to complete work effectively and safely.
-Work with the Senior Environmental Scientist and Manager of Environmental Services to identify and prioritize environmental, water and wastewater initiatives.
-Keep current with applicable regulatory requirements and advise management of changes in applicable regulations.

Education & Experience:
- Hold an undergraduate degree in science (environmental sciences, biochemistry or chemistry), engineering, or a diploma in environmental engineering technology.
-Have a minimum ofthree (3) years of directly related experience.
