Practical and Applied Arts Teacher (Full-Time 1.0) Position

Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority is seeking applications for the position of a
Practical and Applied Arts Teacher at Father Porte Memorial Dene School located at the Blake Lake, SK.

Immediate Supervisor  Principal

The Practical and Applied Arts Teacher is responsible for instructing students in practical and applied arts (PAA) by creating lesson plans, administering praise and constructive criticism, instructing students on subjects within industrial arts, home economics, business education, and technical-vocational education. They are intended to acquaint students with the day-to-day aspects of adult life, including employment, family responsibilities, and leisure. The teacher is to create a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.

Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree, a teaching certificate or credential or equivalent professional experience which would translate to successful classroom teaching.
    A recognized post-secondary Diploma as a Practical and Applied Arts Teacher or equivalent post-secondary education in a related area from a recognized institution would be an asset.
    Proficiency in the use of computers such as word processing, excel and database systems.
    Related training or experience in the field of education would be a definite asset.
