Description

The Healthcare Human Resources Branch of the Ministry of Health serves the health care sector, including the Ministry, in the areas of health workforce planning and policy; regional and agency support; strategic initiatives and advice; nursing policy; and labour relations.

The Research and Analysis Unit is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented individual with exceptional data analytic and modelling skills to fill a 2-year term position. You will join a team responsible for forecasting, analyzing and assessing the health human resource needs of the province to identify solutions and strategies for ensuring critical health human resources are available. You will lead data analysis, working with a variety of health, education and government stakeholders to gather and analyze different datasets.

To join this challenging, innovative and supportive working environment, the successful candidate will have practical knowledge and proficiency in Excel, statistical analysis software, research and analysis techniques, and data presentation. Programming languages (e.g. SAS, R, or Python), and knowledge of health policy issues and public policy development will be considered an asset.

The knowledge and skills required for this position would have been gained through the completion of a degree in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, computer science or a related discipline, along with experience in data analysis and modelling.
