Job Description: This position is responsible to assist the Health Services/ Mental Health Care Manager with the delivery of  services that are consistent with policies, standards, legal requirements, philosophy and mission of the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

It includes being responsible to:
Direct and coordinate mental health care staff of the multi-disciplinary team
Collaborate and work with other departments as needed.
Consult with other  Managers when directing activities of the program if the sector Manager/Director is absent.

The Mental Health  Nurse B Supervisor works under the direction of the Mental Health  Manager in the assigned sector/region. The position, under the direction of the Mental Health  Manager, directs Mental Health  activities in order to provide care to clients. In the absence of other Managers, the position has the authority to direct the activities of the program.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Experience
Minimum 3 years recent experience in Mental Health related services
Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
Nursing experience working with clients with chronic mental illness


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to apply research to nursing practice
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and communication with other health care professionals
Ability to provide leadership and direction as necessary
