Job Description: In collaboration with the health care team, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community of Cumberland House.  This includes:  health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive treatment and emergency services, collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals, participating in community needs assessments, and participating in evaluative projects as required. The RN(NP) has the added authority to autonomously diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, medical devices and other therapies, and performs specific procedures within the RN(NP) legislated scope of practice and is solely responsible /accountable to know and understand the appropriate action of those same guidelines.  The RN (NP) utilizes an evidence based holistic approach that emphasizes health promotion and partnership development.
Required Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or required to obtain
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Level C Health Care Provider (HCP) - Heart & Stroke
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as an RN (NP)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Advanced communication skills
Advanced interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
