This position is responsible for developing and implementing preventative programs, crisis
intervention and support services that are family centric. This includes assessment and
referral, short-term support, group work programs, workshops, education and prevention-
based activities, special events, networking with community resources, and developing and
managing intervention programs and resources to respond to crisis situations in military
families. Reporting to the MFRC Senior Operations manager and liaising with other internal
and external stakeholders, the Social Worker/ Community Support Specialist will be
responsible for the provision of mental health services, which requires extensive work with
military families, as well as the provision of access to external programs in the local
community that will assist CAF members and their families with regard to access to family-
centric mental health services.
