Description

Regina Food for Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, committed individual to fill the position of Assistant Food Services Coordinator. This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working in a kitchen setting, interacting with volunteers, and appreciates the importance of school feeding programs. This position also involves some heavy lifting on a weekly basis (up to 40 lbs).

Regina Food for Learning is a non-profit organization that partners with the community to provide nourishing food to children in schools. Reporting to the Food Services Coordinator, you will help to oversee our Core Ritchie operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a clean and safe food preparation environment for Regina Food for Learning's school meals, following Saskatchewan food safety guidelines
- Support volunteers working at the Core Ritchie location and provide guidance on recipes and food safety
- Create a positive work environment where volunteers are valued
- Show leadership in the kitchen with all recipes and techniques ensuring that the supplies are used in an economically responsible way
- Track food supplies, kitchen equipment, and inventory
- Provide coverage for the Food Services Coordinator when required

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
-    Previous baking and cooking experience required
-    Experience working with volunteers or in a non-profit setting an asset
-    Reliable, committed, and flexible
-    Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
-    Outstanding organizational skills
-    Excellent communication skills
-    Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
-    Completion of Food Safety Course Level 1 (cost reimbursed by employer)
-    Completion of a Police Criminal Record Check (cost reimbursed by employer)

This position works approximately 20 hours/week, weekday mornings during the school year.
